I have a Maytag Atlantis.

Problem: Works fine, except it will not switch from agitate to pump/spin if left alone. If, when it is supposed to be spinning, you lift and close the lid, it will then immediately switch over, and pump out and spin, then the rinse cycle runs, but it also does not pump and spin, you have to go lift and reclose the lid after the dial enters the Spin Zone for it to start pumping out and spinning.

Any ideas?

Before you flame, I did check this post:

But since it went unresolved, I wasn't sure. I also wondered about the "fuse" thing: if the lid switch fuse is blown, would it agitate at all?

I also can tell you that I have tried with the "Extra Rinse" and "Super Wash" buttons both off and on, and it is the same in both the Regular/Color and Whites modes.
