Default Maytag wont complete rinse cycle
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: lat7334aae
Age: More than 10 years

My Maytag washer will fill up at the rinse cycle but then will not proceed from there. This started out as an intermittent problem and has now become a very regular problem. If I slightly jiggle the contol knob it seems like the motor will try to start for a second and then stops eventually I can get it to start and begin the cycle, I have to keep checking it because most of the time it will stop and I will have to "jiggle" the knob again.

This is the first problem we have had with this washer since we bought it in 1994 (14) years, I guess I can't complain too much.

I am guessing that it may be the control mechanism but I wanted to ask the advice of some pros before I start replacing parts.

Thank you for your help.

dik

Thank you Kayak. I called it the "controller" but I guess timer was a better word for it. Thank you also for the part number.

I book marked your website.

Thanks.
