 Maytag washer won't agitate does everything else Brand: Maytag Model Number: A710 Age: More than 10 years
I though my washer was having problems with agitating a few months ago (thumping sounds). The power went out for a few days and we tried to finish the washer cycle while on a generator to get the water out. The machine tried to agitate but we only got a burnt rubber smell. Washed some loads after that after we got power back, but not sure if they agitated or not. Noticed after back from 2 week vacation that the clothes weren't getting as clean. The machine will not agitate. It fills, does nothing through the agitation cycle (no noise, no smell, no movement), spins, drains and rinses. I am about to purchase a new washer but want to know if there is a cheap easy fix first. |
