Maytag washer water temperature problem Brand: Maytag Model Number: A512 Age: More than 10 years Our Maytag washer (model A512) is approximately 20 years old. When the temperature control is set on "hot," very hot water goes into the washer. When the control is set on "cold," cold water goes into the washer. However, when the control is set on "warm," the water is tepid at best. We thought that we could regulate/control the "warm" temperature by opening and closing the hot and cold water valves to get the desired mixture, but that hasn't worked. Even if the hot water valve is totally open and the cold water valve is totally closed, if the control is set on "warm" the water is only tepid. The same amount of water flows into the machine with all 3 settings, and the hose going from the valve on the hot water pipe into the machine feels hot when the control is set on "warm" - yet the water that goes into the machine isn't really warm. Any ideas?? |
