Default Maytag Washer - No Power
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LAT9314AAL
Age: More than 10 years

During the rinse cycle I opened the lid to add fabric softener. After closing lid, machine did not restart. No power on any cycle. Fuse was blown and after replacing fuse, still no power. Secondly, replaced entire timer mechanism...still not working. Machine was working properly until lid was opened and closed to add softener. Could it have something to do with the lid switch? What could have caused to fuse to blow? Please Help!!

The fuse is blowing, because the micro switch that is sitting next to it is your problem. Replace the whole assembly. The part # is Y215699. That will come with the fuse, lid switch, and micro switch. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
