Angry Maytag washer needs repair
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAW5500BWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

my neptune washer leaves my clothes too wet after the spin cycle. First a little background, my washer had left the clothes very wet after the spin cycle upon checking the washer it was discovered that the motor was not turning. After checking the error codes and discussing the problem with the local repair shop the main control board was replaced. New problem, the washer works fine on all washmodes except high speed spin, a check of the motor shows no problem in this area during the spin cycle the drum turns very slowly and the pump continues to accuate, the pump seems to be working as the drum does drain the slow speed of the spin cycle leaves the clothes too wet to dry HELP!!! any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Check to see if the door is locking.

If the door does not lock you will not get the high spin speed.

Check the door lock switches.

Here is a link to your washer model MAH5500BWW.

I have completed a door lock test and the lock switch passes, I have also alternated during the test from lock to unlock and again the door lock seems fine any other suggestions? Could I have a bad drum unbalance switch?

Where the board was just replaced check all the connections on the board.

It could be the unbalance switch.

Is there any codes in the control like Sd.

If the the washer got suds locked it will not spin on high speed.

no sd code however on a spin test the motor reached 100 rpm then stopped and coasted down, check of codes read unbalance fault and door switch, I think we can agree the door switch is ok after ttesting so it looks loke the unbalance switches need toi be checked.

From experience on this,,, The struts are wore and need replaced,
the washer protects it self wont let it beat around and break something, on the board you changed remember the little white box on it, if it gets shaken to much it will slow the motor and try and reposition the cloths better to account for it,

Replacing the shocks should correct the problem!!!

I have encountered several error codes including bad power supply, unbalance switch, internal unbalance, low rpm spin, bad control board, and bad lock mechanism. this is but a short list, there are others, would the struts cause all of these errors?????
