Check the pump for something stuck in it.

Here is a link to your washer model mav8600aww.

Checkd pump , nothing in it. Small white plastic shavigs as if something was rubbing at one time. Alot of black shavings underneath. Replaced the belt - old one loooked frayed on edges. Checkd the cam, spun counterclockwise and it engaged. When I spin it from the bottem dont hear any noise. Could it still be the bearings? Or how do I chck the moter?? Thanks

Could it be the tension spring on the pump- is this suppose to keep tension on the belt?? I notice the pump moves and when it should move to tighten the belt it seems to not be good tension on it..??? Like I said I pulld the cap cover off (on the bottem) and the tub turns with no noise and when i do it counterclockwise the cam catches and spins with no noise to. Any help would be appreciatied ,, thanks

To check the motor remove the belt and run in the spin cycle.

motor runs , but it jerks over the plate and then runs smooth . Does it move in one direction to put tension on the spring when it is on a spin cycle. runs w/out the belt. With the belt appears to be stuck or struggling to run. Could the motor spring (if not providing enough tension against the motor)be the cause????

Also looks as if the noise might have been comming from the water pump pulley, upon examination fount a metal sleeve type item inside the pully underneath the pump has come loose and was at a angle &may have been scraping the botttom??

I think your problem is the motor slides and isolator are worn and need to be replaced.

Remove the motor and check.

Refer to the base breakdown for the parts.
