Angry Maytag washer gets stuck on Rinse cycle and will not stop filling tub
Brand: Admiral
Age: 1 - 4 years

This past weekend my Admiral washing machine (sold exclussively at Home Depot) got "stuck" in the rinse cylce and would not stop filling the washer. When we realized this was happening, the washer had already overflowed causing $900 in damage to our rug. I tried it again the next day and the same thing happened...

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

When you realized what was happening and shut the washer off did the water stop coming in or did you have to shut the water tap off?

Could you please give your model number as this will assist?

Hi Sheila,

Thanks for your reply. When I push the dial button in to shut the machine off, the water stops. If I move the dial to another position, like the spin cycle, the water stops and the spin cycle runs appropriately. I am at work but will get the model number for you tomorrow.

It sound like you may have a faulty water level switch.

This is number five on the control panel section.

Here is a picture of your water level switch.

Here is a link to your washer model LNC6760B71.
