Default Maytag Washer Bearing
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MLE2000AYW
Age: 5 - 10 years

I Have Both Bearings For The Tub Out Of The Washing Machine. Does The Lip Seal Service Package, Ps728024 Contain The Inner Beraring?

Does The Spinner Assy, Ps65094 Or Ps7280027 Contain The Inner Bearing? And, Which Spinner Part Number Is For This Machine?

Any Assistance Would Be Helpful And Appreciated.

Thanks Bjr

The only way to get the bearing is to order the tub part number ps993567.

The spinner assembly for your washer would be determined by the series number on your model number tag.

Here is a link to your model MLE2000AYW.

Default Bearing

Thanks For The Reply.

If I Am Able To Obtain A New Bearing, Through Alternate Sources, Would The Lip Seal Package Contain The Seal For The Inner Bearing? Also, There Is No Series Number On My Serial Number Tag. It Just Has The Serial Number And Model Number, The Serial Number Looks Like This: 17576686wu.

Assistance Would Be Appreciated. Thanks, Bjr

2000Jimmy,
The series number is always the first two digits of your serial number. In your case, 17. You'll want to order the parts that are for the highest series number possible, but no higher than yours, e.g. 14 or 16 or 17 are OK, 18 and over is not. The idea is to get the latest version of the parts needed for your machine, but not newer.

Thanks For The Series Information.

Does Anybody Know What The Lip Seal Kit Contains? Is Their A Seal For The Inner Bearing And Does It Come With The Hub For The Lip Seal To Seal Against?

I Appreciate All The Assistance. Thanks.

This Is An Answer To My Own Questions.

Since The Picture Of The Seal Kit Does Not Explain What All The Parts Are, I Will Explain What I Have Learned By Obtaining The Kit. The Kit Contains Two Seal Kits, One For An Earlier Version And One For A Later Version. They Are The Seal For The Tub Bearings/ Shaft And It Does Contain Two Complete Seal Kits, Even Though You Only Need One. That Kind Of Explains The $37 Cost Of The Seal.

The Bearing Is Available Through An Industrial Bearing Source For $28. Sure Beats The Entire Tub For $235 +.

I Have Installed The New Bearing And One Half Of The Seal Kit And Repaired The Machine For About $70.

It Is Working Great.

Thanks For All The Replys.

2000JIMMY,
I was just getting ready to post a new thread... logged in and saw yours, and I think you may have solved my problem!
I recently installed a new motor and controller in my Neptune washer. A few days later, I began to notice bearing noise. Over several weeks, the noise got worse and worse and it's really loud now, especially during the spin cycle.
Can you confirm that you had these symptoms also? I want to make sure the noise is not caused by a bad motor bearing.
Can you tell me the specifics of the tub bearings that you purchased? What size, where did you get them? I too would like to save the cost of a new tub if possible... I assume that all I would need then would be the seal kit mentioned above.
Thanks in advance for your consideration!
Fred.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR SYMPTOMS ARE THE SAME AS I HAD WITH MY MACHINE.

THE BEARING NOISE GOT REAL LOUD WHEN IN SPIN. IT HAD A KNOCKING NOISE AS WELL AS A HIGH PITCHED SQUEEL. YOU COULD HARDLY BE IN THE ROOM WHEN IT WAS SPINNING.

THE SEAL WAS WHAT FAILED. THE BEARING WAS A RESULT OF THE SEAL FAILURE.

I GOT THE BEARING LOCALLY. I ONLY REPLACED THE LARGER BEARING. THE OTHER SEEMED TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE. IT STILL IS WORKING, SO I GUESS IT WAS STILL GOOD.

THE BEARING IS SKF 6207 2RSJEM. GOT IT FROM DAVE AT THIS eMAIL ADDRESS: DBATTERSHELL@APPLIED.COM

I AM NO EXPERT ON ANY OF THIS STUFF, BUT I HOPE THIS HELPS.

BJR,
Since you're online right now... did you find that the bearing you replaced was pretty easy to pull and reinstall? Need any special tools? Also, how did you find out what model to order to replace it?
