Default Maytag timer problem
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: lat8840baw
Age: More than 10 years

1993 vintage Maytag toploader. Timer keeps going around and around, i.e., at the end of the spin, motor shuts off, then timer keeps ticking sporadically, the next fill cycle starts. Does the entire timer/motor assembly need replacement? Can it be repaired?
thanks

Default Timer

Yes to which question?
1. Can it be repaired? If so, how?
2. Does the whole unit need replacement?
3. I believe the motor can be purchased separately, but the timer unit can only be bought with the motor included. Is that right?

Where to buy?

Thanks

IF the timer can be taken apart, then you can fix it, if Kingston time no. You may have a set of contacts welded shut or just a worn cam, just check by removing covers of timer.
