Default Maytag pump pulley shim - which series
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: PAVT234AWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

The washer froze up and I found that there's some kinda shim that holds the pump pully on? It has slipped off the pulley and wedged the pump so it wouldn't spin. I pushed the shim back into the pulley and it works for now, but I suspect the pump's on its way out.

I noticed there is a series 10 pump and regular high volume pump (without a series number) listed on this site as replacement parts. My washer is a series 10, but I suspect they upgraded the pump. Will the regular pump without the series number work? And what does ASPAK mean on this site next to the part? I'm kinda confused which pump to get.

Thanks.

If your standpipe is much higher than 5ft get the hi-volume pump, otherwise get the regular ser. 10 pump. The "upgrade" is the absense of metal. It was changed to save a buck not make anything better. I don't know what "ASPAK" means but it's common on Maytag parts.
