I know I am not the first, nor will I be the last! My Maytag Nepute woke me this morning at around 3:45 displaying a nd alarm. I checked the book, cycled power, cursed..... nothing helped. Then, I came here and found some useful threads. I couldn't open the door because it wouldn't unlock due to water level. Getting the water out was fun but I accessed the pump assembly from the back inside the panel. I think only two screws. Took the inlet hose loose(have a good stack of towels handy). The inlet hose wasn't plugged but at least I checked it. The Outlet hose(small grey one) however is a diffrent story. See as soon as it leaves the pump it reduces like half the original size. Low and behold a nickel is just the right size to block this port beautifully. I could just imagine the colorful adjectives I would have used had I called a repairman over a @#&%*@#%&(* nickel!!!! Thanks for the threads and I hope someone finds this one equally as useful!!

Your Maytag Neptune problem is very interested. This is a impossible story but it did happened and you managed to fix it.

I got a MAH9700 Maytag Neptune Washer similar like your so I need to ask you some questions if you don't mind.
1. What kind of detergent do you use and how much?
2. Do you have SUDS problem in the washer?
3. Have you ever had wet clothes at the end of cycle?.
4. What are your regular settings? Wash/Rinse Temp, Spin Speed, Soil Level and Normal/White/Colors?.

My MAH9700 Maytag Neptune Washer got SUDS problem all the time after the first 10 months. It only works OK with less than 1.5 teaspoons of Tide HE detergent or NO DETERGENT at all. I got wet clothes at the end of cycle all the time. It sucks.
I used differents setting agot the same SUDS/wet clothes problem.
I checked the drain pump and it is clean, no clogged up.

I decided to check what you said was wrong with your wsher, and .....................yes a nickle was stuck in myine as well. Thanks for saving me a few hundred dollars.
