Default Maytag Neptune
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAH5500BWW
Age: More than 10 years

I have a Maytag Neptune Washer model MAH5500BWW that will not complete the spin cycle, runs every cycle with no problem, gets to spin cycle with 10 minutes on the indicator, locks door and just sits there until 9 minutes show on the indicator then it goes to 0 minutes. Leaves all the water in the tub from the rinse cycle. I ran the diagnostics mode and when pushing the spin cycle button while in the service mode it will empty the water, then start flashing different codes such 77, 56, 23 ,88. but it does not remove the water from the clothes. I know the class action suit has been closed and my model was one of the listed problem machines, bought it in September 2003. Any help? I'm a novice at appliance repair but can follow directions.

Check the door lock switch mechanism and switch and solenoid.

Check for loose connections.

If the switches check OK it could be the motor control board or the main control board.

Here is a link to your washer model MAH5500BWW.
