Default Maytag/Naptune door open, floor flooded, burning smell
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAH4000AWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Came home to see the washing machine door open, the floor flooded, and when I shut the door and tried to run the machine for a while longer, I smelled a burning smell.

When I turned the machine back on, I did not see any water coming from the bottom of the machine or out of the machine.

When I turned the machine back on, the "locked" light didn't turn on for over 2,3 minutes, although it eventually turned on.

I let the warranty expire SIX weeks ago (sigh). (Thought it was covered by my home warranty program... wrong.)

Any ideas about what this is and how hard it is to fix?

thank you!
Kate

You may have a failed pressure switch or kink in the air dome hose.

Check for a blocked pump or drain hose.

It is had to say what is causing the burning smell.

Did you get the the washer to drain?

Here is a link to your washer model MAH4000AWW.
