Default Maytag front loader drain pump
Brand: Please select
Model Number: MAH 2400
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi,

I have a compact front loader Maytag, and the drain pump seems to be blocked or bad. I have seen a tech access the pump and clear it, and it wasn't too hard, but I can't seem to remember how to get the front panel by the front feet open (this is where the repair manual lives).

Can somebody tell me how to get at the repair manual compartment, or better yet, how to get at the drain pump?

Thanks,

Nike

To get to the repair manual use a plastic putty knife and release the three retaining clips on the panel.

To remove the front panel you will have to remove the top panel.

Remove the soap dispenser drawer.

Remove the screws holding the control panel in place.

Remove the door boot retaining wire from the groove.

Pull the boot over the lip on the front panel.

Remove the six screw on the front panel, three at the top and three at the bottom.

This will give you access to the pump.

Here is a link to your washer model MAH2400aww.

Default easier method

There is a lot easier way to get at drain pump on a mah2400 . Unplug washer ,tilt backwards leaning against a wall . From underneath remove hard plastic botom cover . Pump is located at front right corner. Remove electrical connector at pump, remove 4 phillips screws holding pump to frame .Remove both spring loaded hose clamps. Have bucket ready pull hoses from pump .Mark orientation on pump and remove 3 screws holding pump together. Remove change in pump ,look down drain hose making sure a nickle isn't blocking hose. Reverse process to reassemble. Take change to coffee shop and have a coffee feeling proud of yourself that you saved a bunch of money. It should take less than 20 minutes to repair.
