Default Maytag Autotemp not working?
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAV7650AWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

It appears that when we select "Cold" wash and rinse, and the tub fills, it fills with very warm to hot water. Help in beginning to diagnose this problem would be most appreciated

Were the hoses remove lately and put back on the opposite taps?

Check the switch for proper opperation.

Here is a link to your washer model MAV7650AWW.

Thanks for the response.

No the hoses have not been removed, since install.
I have made sure that the valves are fully open, and it appears that the water is flowing fine.
I suspect the controller, or valve is not working fully but do not know how to check either of them.
Worst case, I could just replace them but I hate to do that if not neccessary.

Check the fill valve with a meter.

You should have between 500 and 1000 ohms of resistance if the coils are good.

Follow the wiring diagram to check the switches.

The switches, (Water Temp Switchs) appear to be ok when checked with the Ohm meeter
I have a shade over 1K Ohms accross each of the hot and cold Coils in the Water Valve.

By my calculation it must be the PC Board. Which if you agree, I will order
Thanks

Paul
