Brand: Maytag
Model Number: lat2500aae

I have a top load Maytag Performa washing machine. It is making a squeeking noise as it agitates.

How do I gain access to check it out? How do I get the front off or top up??

In this diagram of your washer you can see the top has two spring clips on the front and the cabinet clips the top will hinge in. The front panel also has spring clips. You can get them off by prying with a putty knife etc.
