Default Maytag A482 died after filling
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: A482
Age: 5 - 10 years

Just picked this up for free, only cost being removing it from the previous ownder's house. The previous owner stated that the washer ran fine, there were no jars or drops moving it so that part has been ruled out.

The washer started up and filled fine, but once the water was up it stopped functioning. Now there's no way to get it to drain or spin or do anything, no combination of settings has any effect on it.

What I'm wondering is if some washers can be overfilled and not work, or if there's a fuse i can look for to replace to get it working again. I was in a room next to the washer when it ceased to work so I don't know if there were any noises etc. when it stopped.

Check and make sure that the lid switch is working.

Was the drum block when it was being moved.

If it was not the drum may have knock some wires loose.

Remove the front panel and check the wiring harness to the motor.

Open the console and make sure the wires are on the timer.

Here is link to your washer model A482.
