Question Maytag a212 washer spin cycle not fast enough
Brand: Please select
Model Number: A212
Age: Please select

Hello,
I have a maytag a212 washing machine, and for the most part it works just fine, however the spin cycle is not fast enough to be effective. The washer enters into the spin cycle but the speed of the tub does not increase to remove the excess water from the clothes. I have looked on the Internet but cannot find out which part to look at. I have been able to find a listing of parts for purchase but no information on which part controls the speed of the spin cycle. I would greatly appreciate any and all help. Thanks in advance!
Mitch

Yes that is an older Maytag. The last of the best Maytags. It could be 3 things. Sometimes the pump will drag, unnoticeably. It could also be the belts, and then last it could be is the lower seal kit. Does it make noise in the spin cycle? Also take the belts off, and turn the pump pully, and see if it is a little tight. If so replace it. Also check your drain hose to make sure there is not a kink in it. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
