Default Main Tub Seal question with picture
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LAT9357AAE
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hello,

The washer is leaking from the main tub seal. Two questions please:

1. Can the seal be patched with silicone vs. replacement?

2. If silicone wouldn't work, is this a good project for a do-it-yourselfer or should I call a pro? I'm mechanically inclined and have installed toilets, sinks, and decks before. I do not have a spanner wrench.

Thank you!

No, silicone will not last and it will leak again.
