You probably have the infamous blown control board, bad wax motor.Check latch to see if it will not lock; if so you need to fix this problem. There is a neat fix for this if you want to save $300. Go to Maytag No Spin Problem - Alternate Solution - Appliance Blog Forums Probably get the resistor at Circuit City.

I Haved Used The Aforementioned Maytag Won't Spin Solution,
And Paid For The 32.00$ Repair Kit. It Came With A New Resiter,trister,and New Wax Motor. The Repair Kit Worked Perfect. I'v Repaired 3 So Far In The Past 3 Mo. And No More Spin Problems Bettyboop
