Default Machine stops after wash cycle
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 417.41042000
Age: Please select

My front-load washer stops after the wash cycle, but before the rinse cycle. If I pull the knob out and advance it slightly, it will continue for a while then stop again. If I pull the know out again, and advance it, the cycle will eventually complete itself with this manual method. I am wondering if anyone knows what part might be defective. The pump seems okay

Thanks for any suggestions.

Check the timer.

There is a small motor on the timer that advance the timer through the cycles.

The motor drives a gear and if there are teeth missing in the gear or on the motor it will not advance.

Here is a link to the parts of your washer model 417.41042000.

You will have to remove the top of the washer to access the screws to remove the faceplate.

There is also a screw behind the soap dispenser drawer.
