lwd70al washer leaks - base of tub at main tub bearing

(note I just tried to post this as a reply to the Dec 2007 thread on replacement belt - but now I cannot find it so starting a new post here).

Back in December, per another post (find by searching for LWD70AL) I successfully changed the belt - worked fine until now. Now the washer leaks.

After taking the front panel off, I see water dripping from the base of the tub - specifically water drips from one of the screws on the triangular "main tub bearing assembly".

This is item #14 from the parts list/diagram if you select the 2nd last picture from the bottom of the list labeled "OUTER TUB, COVER, PRESSURE TUBE, AND COU"
from this site: (same as link from woodchuck's reply from last December)
Maytag LWD70AL Parts List

The question is:
1.
Is this the likely part to replace (main tub bearing assembly, $19) and if so, is this difficult to replace? or

2.
Do I really need to be replacing parts identified in another picture - from the first diagram labeled AGITATOR, DRIVE BELL, WASHTUB AND HUB. Specifically item #7 from this picture is called "Complete Hub and Seal Kit" ($83) or maybe just item #10 - the Agitator Drive Bell Seal for $10.

Note that the washer begins to leak (drips from screw) as water gathers in the base of the tub before agitation/washing begins.

Any help would be appreciated if you have a good feeling for the parts I should buy, and/or if you know the procedure to replace the parts. If not, I guess just from looking at the pictures, I can start taking things apart. (I always hate that method !)

The hub and seal kit will have to be replace as well as the bearing.

The seal leaking is what likely took the bearing out.

The job is not a hard job but it is time consuming.

There are special tool that are used but the job can be done without them.

Here is a link to your washer model LWD70AL.
