Default Lower Seal
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LAT2500AAE
Age: 1 - 4 years

My in-laws have a fairly new Maytag washer that leaks. They've been told it is the lower seal. Looked and tried to find a schematic online to repair to no avail. What is involved in replacing this, in-laws said for a technician to do this would be $300+. Thanks for any help

By the model number is is an old style Maytag washer.

If the seal is leaking the bearing and seal assembly will have to be replaced.

It is not a hard job but will take some time.

Make sure it is not the pump that is leaking.

Here is a link to your in-laws washer model LAT2500AAE.

Here is the bearing.

Here is the seal.
