Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.28902790
Age: 5 - 10 years

Ser # CH4271068

sounds like motor is spinning but gears are grinding. Does not spin but does wash. Checked hood switch Ok. any help?

What you need to do is replace the coupler. It is in between the motor, and the transmission. The part is no more then $15.00 If you need me to walk you through the repair. I can be reached at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com

thank you so much. That was exactly what it was and very easy to fix. These forums have helped me repair a washing machine, dishwasher, and refrigerator....probably saving me several hundred dollars. God Bless America!
