Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: kawe560
Age: More than 10 years

I need to repalce the lid switch, but can't figure out how to get the top of the machine off or open the cabinet.

thanks for any help

To get at the lid switch you have to remove the cabinet.

There should be two screws in the console.

If you can't see them you will have to remove the caps of the end caps.

When you have the screws removed flip the control panel up toward the wall.

You will then see a brassy looking clip in each corner.

Remove the clips.

Disconnect the wiring harness to the lid switch.

Open the lid of the washer and grasp the cabinet and tilt it toward you and lift at the same time.

You will now be able to replace the switch.

To get a complete breakdown of your model you will need the last four digits of your model number.
