Default Leaking and whistling speed queen model awm393w

HI! Our speed queen just leaked all over the floor and took out the ceiling below. When we try to find the leak we do not see water leaving the hoses or machine. However, the machine is making a load whistling sound when it gets to the spin cycle. Any ideas?

If the washer over flowed it could have been cause by a stuck pressure switch or the fill valve sticking.

Was the whistling there before the washer over flowed?

If not there may water in the base causing the noise.

Here is a link to your washer model awm393w.

does it whistle with or without clothes?

does it have a stainless steel basket?

neither of these questions address the leaking issue, but can help in the analysis.

All Speed Queen top load machines should make a whistling sound when in spin and empty. Did you check the drain?
