Default Leaking Only at Fill Cycles
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSQ9244EQ0
Age: 5 - 10 years

When the washer is filling, a steady trickle leaks from under the right front base but stops when it begins washing and leaks again during rinse fill cycle. The supply hoses appear fine and there's no obvious place where the water is coming from. We tipped the washer backwards but it has a mostly solid base. Can anybody give me a clue where its coming from or an easy answer how to fix it?

I'd also like to look at a detailed, illustrated technical diagram showing how all the parts are connected before getting too far afield with my trusty Phillips if any one knows where to find one.

See if it leaks when it's done filling (push in timer dial) when the washer might only leak when the pump is still, then stop when the motor is running. You might need a new pump

When the fill cycle started, as before a slow trickle began to leak out from the bottom, right front. When it was full, I pushed in the dial to pause the pump and the dripping increased to a steady flow with another starting next to it (not a huge flow). When I pulled the dial to start the wash cycle motor, the leaking stopped.
So does that mean I need a new pump? I haven't figured out why a pump leaks even more when it's still, but doesn't at all when the motor starts!?! More important to know, does it have an illustrated guide on how to replace? Is it a difficult task to do alone? Do you recommend replacing any other parts with a new pump? Thanks for your help!

It leaks water be cause it's heavy, but when the motor runs, and the pump pushes water out, the water is pulled away from the leaky seal.
the pump change is a real easy chore. Remove the 2 hoses, slip off the little clips that holds the pump on, lift off old pump. line up the 2 flat spots in the new pump,And align the motor shaft's 2 flat spots, and slip pump on, then clips, then rehook up 2 hoses and you're finished
