I am the new boy here. My eight (8) yr General Electric washing machine makes no unusual noise. Does it's job, but is leaking oil. Do I throw it away or can it be fixed, i.e., is it most likely a seal that is leaking and oil can be added?

You have the newer tranny, can't add oil to it. Where is the oil going, on the clothes or out the bottom. Pull front panel and check for leaking tub seal above tranny.
Post results.
