Kenmore washer will fill & agitate but not spin.

First problem is how do I get open, top doesn't have spring clips, how do I get open?

What should I check first?

The first thing to check is the lid switch.

It the switch is faulty or has come loose the washer will not spin.

To open the washer do the following.

Remove the two screws the hold the console to the top of the washer. There is one in each corner.

Pop the two brassy spring clips holding the back to the cabinet. Ther is one in each corner.

Disconnect the wiring harnes to the lid switch.

Open the lid and tilt the cabinet toward you and pick it up at the same time.
