Have a Kenmore washer model # 26722690. Did wash yesterday, no problem. Today did a load opened at end and wash was wet. Turned to spin cycle and does not spin and makes a sound like an airplane, not a good sound, kind of grinding. Washer could be more than 10 years old. Do you think it is worth fixing? Thanks in advance for any help. Beth P.S. I looked under the washer and saw the coupler, I spun it with my fingers, it seemed fine.

tip the washer on its side and there should be a rubber disk between the electric motor and the transmission with 3 prongs from each the motor and the transmission going into this disk. Either the plastic prongs are broke or the rubber disk is stripped. Take apart and get the $15 part and replace.
