We just bought a washer and dryer set- used from a co-worker. They had been stored for a year. The washer has appeared to work fine for the past 3 weeks, but now doesn't appear to spin and smells hot like something is burning....we are not using it anymore. It also will not dispense the fabric softner. Looking for your expert opinion. Is this something I can fix, or should I call someone in? So I think I may have figured it out.....after looking closer and not just trusting what my other half said, the drain hose was kinked at the washer, the washer would spin and slowly pump out the water - hence appearing that the washer wasn't spinning...this was probably causing something to heat up from spinning with a full machine of water...I haven't figured out the fabric softener issue yet! Any ideas?

Check to make sure the dispenser is clean.

If the spin speed is slow the fabric softener will not dispense.
