Unhappy Kenmore Top Load shakes and leaks
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.42722200
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi,

I have a Kenmore washing machine that has 2 problems.. it shakes quite badly, and trying different loads won't seem to make a difference. I did find a bent wheel bracket that I straightened, that seemed to help.

The main problem is that it's leaking out of the bottom, I flipped it on its' side and it appears that it's the pump spitting out water (Which looks to have a rusty residue under there, it leaves rusty residue under the unit butthe water leaking on the floor is clear).

I can't seem to figure out how to remove the pump, I managed to get the pulley and belt off and there's a plate that's held on by 4 1/2" bolts, that's loose as well as 4 7/32nds bolts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Bill

To remove the pump, lay the washer on it front and remove the two screws that hold the pump to the cabinet.

Support the drain pump in one hand and remove the remaining hex head screw and remove the pump from the cabinet.

Check the suspension spring and snubber straps.

The snubber straps are located in the four corner of the cabinet and go to the tub.
