Default Kenmore randomly starts to drain
Brand: Kenmore
Age: More than 10 years

I couldn't post the model number, cause I'm on the road & can't reach anybody at home right when I'm able to do this email.

Our 20-yr-old 4-cycle Kenmore (we love it) started a behavior a year ago that's getting worse. It gets a couple minutes into the wash cycle (sometimes more), then just starts into the drain cycle. Months age, when this behavior first started, I was able to give a light tap w/my fist on top near the timer, and it would stop draining & go back to normal.

Also, it didn't used to do it on the gentle cycle, but does now.

Our local handyman told me of the wig-wag & that I needed to lube it, but with the timer issues, could be that too. But you guys are the experts... what do you think? Thanks.

If your washer has a wig wag, it's older than 20. I don't know if they still make a timer for that old one. Maybe you should buy a modern washer.
