Default Kenmore motor prob?

How do you test a motor's thermal cutout?
Here's the problem. Washer was full water at end of the cycle. I checked the pump and trap and found a quater blocking the pump. Once cleared, the pump opererates and the water empties out but the motor won't turn at all. I went looking for the motor protector "thermal cut out". I think I found it on the outside of the motor where the wire harness plugs in. It is a seperate two prong plug (aqua wire) that goes from the Water level switch to the speed control unit. I ohm tested this plug on the motor, with the other multiple wire plug unplugged, and it is letting power through with no resistance.
1. did I locate the thermal cut out correctly?
2. what does that ohm test tell me?
3. can the thermal cut out be replaced or does the whole motor need replaced?
4. am I missing some important step?
After reading every post in this forum......
Front loader, won't agitate or spin, (nothing from motor at all) fills and drains, door locks and light comes on.
Motor? Speed control?

Thanks, for your help
Jeff

Check per the service sheet provided. It sounds like your latch may be bad, both micro switches must be closed for spin.

Do you mean there are two micro switches in the door latch assembly? Or are you talking about some other switch I should look at.
Thanks again.
