Default Kenmore front load wouldn't spin
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 970-v29042-00
Age: More than 10 years

hi, i've got a kenmore 970-c290420-00 (canadian model) made by frigidaire. the machine has stopped turning the load to wash or spin dry. the pump works to drain the water. i removed the rear panel, and the belt seems in find condition. i removed the belt and ran the machine and no action from the motor.
i found the service tech envelope in the machine, with steps to determine why the motor is not running.
similiar to these:

i did the steps in #3 and the voltage readings i got are 1.2-1.4.. should the readings be 120v as shown in the sheets. i'm going to continue troubleshooting as per steps but is the thermal cut out the problem with such a low voltage reading?

The motor speed control that is locate in the right rear corner of the washer convert AC voltage to DC voltage to run the motor.

What are the pin number that you are get your readings from?

How many pin are on the plug?

Because your model is a Canadian model I do not have the breakdown.

i checked between pins 2 and 4 (of the 4 pins). i was getting readings of 1.2 to 1.4 volts. the next step is to test between the 9pin plug and the 4 pin. i checked the 6th pin and the 4th pin. and got a o reading. how do i check the timer contact 11 to 11a?

When you checked between pins 2 and 4 you said you were only getting 1.2 to 1.4 volts.

Did you check the motor thermal cut out to see if you had 120 volts?
