Unhappy Kenmore Elite Oasis: no lights at all
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.27082601
Age: 1 - 4 years

This washer is still less than 2 years old, and yesterday it suddenly stopped working. No lights lit up at all when I pressed power button.
Will that be a control board problem, or user interface one? I definitely want to order the right board and get my washer back to work ASAP.

Thanks,
Tim

Hello jkok2000,

I hate to be the one to ask the obvious and stupid question, but sometimes it's neccesary. First are you sure that you power in your wall plug? I know it's stupid but, I had to ask.

Second; if you do than do you own a multi-meter? It doesn't have to be a fluke, just a radio shack type; anything that will give you a reading.

Yes I have a meter and the power outlet is hot. In fact whenever I have the machine plugged in, I can hear some very low noise (zzz, then pause, then zzz again, until I unplug the machine) coming out of the control board.

I don't have a multi-meter though. I can definitely get one if need it!

Thanks for your reply!

Tim

The zzz, pause, zzz pause, would depend on where the noise is coming from and how much time is passing in between.

On the multi meter, it's up to you on how far you want to diagnose this. The reason I asked is, I would start here with a multi meter; you can learn very quickly if you power, continuity, etc. But, these aren't cheap. If you do get one than I would be happy to work with you in determining this problem. Let me know.
