The C1 code is telling you that there is a problem with the drive motor, thermal protector or the motor controller.

Will the washer work again after you press the stop/cancel to clear the display?

Does it happen with every load?

Over loading can cause this code.

Here is a link to the parts of your washer model 110.22062100.

Will the washer work again after you press the stop/cancel to clear the display? Yes, I have to start over with a new cycle because I don't know when it occured.

Does it happen with every load? Occasionally, every 3rd to 5th load

Over loading can cause this code.It happens on small to larger loads

Check the connection to the motor controller.

There may be a loose connection causing this to happen.

I also have a calypso that we have had trouble with since about the day we bought it. However a few days ago it started shutting off with the C1 code. Only this happens everytime even if the machine is empty. It shuts down as soon as the machine is about to go into the high speed spin cycle. I took it apart yesterday and found the tech sheets on the front panel, checked for any loose connections, the belt drive and any other obvious problems, put it back together and same thing.

Bought it in 2001, and based on the history I'm reading about on it now I'm wondering if it is worth putting any more money or time into?

This is my first blog so I hope I'm doing this right

Thank you, where can I find the motor controller, near the motor or up inside the control panel?

Thanks again,

Steve

The motor controller is in the control panel.

After looking at all the testing I would have to do to figure out if it is the motor controller or the motor when you have a "C1" error code, I took it down to our very qualified appliance dealer, where I know they will diagnose the problem for $40. Before I gave up on it completely, I wanted to know what it would take to fix it. Their best advise that they gave me was that it is a better boat anchor then it would be a washter. They have been working on them in the past but has since given up because if they fix one thing another thing goes wrong soon. They were nice enough to let me dump it there.

I have been looking a little on line about the class action suit against Kennmore regarding this particular washer, but the deadline was May 2007.

So if your calypso is working, be happy, If you need to repair it, think of it as a labor of love. For me, got better things to love for now.

Happy laundry, acl
