Default Kenmore 80 series, spin problems.
Brand: Please select
Model Number: 110.23832100
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hello All:
At first all that would happen is during spin cycle you would hear a thumping, about 2 to a second for the whole spin cycle. You would only hear the thumping when the motor was running, When the basket spins with the motor off there is no thumping. Today the basket now moves like a clock hand about every second with a thump for every move the basket turns. Like a slow motion machine gun. Any ideas of what to do would be apreciated. Thank you ahead of time.

Apparently the sears site pictures are down, but the first thing I would check is the spring that connects from the back of the tub assembly to the back of the frame. What you do is unplug the washer, and pull it away from the wall, and lean it back, and go under the washer and look in the back of the washer, right in the middle, and see if that spring is connnected. You can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
