Well I finally emptied the water from the machine, as I moved the machine away from the wall, I immediately notice alot of black rubber shavings under where the machine sat. I placed the machine on it's side, and as I suspected, the plactic and rubber coupling were broken and worn. I removed the motor and pump, removed the old coupling , cleaned everything up, inspected the pump, which was still in good condition, along with everything else, and replaced the coupling set, which was pretty cheap to replace, under 20 dollars. I put everything back, ran a load, everything is running great now.
But, I always like to know why things break down , from what I have read from this great helpful website, the major cause is maching overload, which casues the coupling to fail eventually.
My question is , could there be any other causes, or a combnation of problems . Like could the tranmission be going ? Even though it's working now, or is just always maching overload? |
