Default Keeps Agitating
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSQ9110PW2
Age: 1 - 4 years

On one of the wash selections everything is normal up to the first spin cycle. The washer will just remain in the agitation cycle - forever. I can stop the cycle, turn the timer just a slight bit, start it again and it continues on through the cycle in a normal fashion. All other wash selections work fine without a problem. It is only this one place the timer quits advancing on its' own.

Instinct tells me to replace the timer but not being a qualified repair technician I hesitate to start using a shotgun on such an expensive part.

Any suggestions?

It could be you have a dead spot in your timer. If your timer is metal you can remove it, and slid off the thin cover and look for burnt contacts(points) if so only a timer will cure your problem. Some have a totally enclosed plastic timer, sealed so you can't look inside. Shiela can get you a fair deal on a replacement timerBettyboop

I figured I would be ordering a new timer. I just wanted a little agreement in my diagnosis. Thank you for the reply.
