My roper washing machine works fine until the spin cycle and then it won't spin or drain. The machine makes a noise and the lid is down. I would really like to try and repair this myself with your advise. Where do you suggest I start to troubleshoot the problem? Thanks, Jeff.

You may have something cought in the tub. Drop the drain hose down to drain the tub and shine a lite in the spin basket. You will probably see something in there. If not you may have a bad clutch and dragging brake shoes.
Check to see if the washer will agitate, if not you have a broken coupler.
