Here is a link to your washer model FWT449GFS1.

Have a look at the Panel part number ps419347 and the bracket ps418484.
I am having the same issue re-installing the top on this washer. I have all the parts -I have the top cover, and the PS417874 and PS418484 brackets, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to attach the top. Are there any instructions/advice you can give me? I don't want to call a technician just for this as it should be trivial, but I am stumped. Nothing in the instructions I have discusses how to re-attach the top. Would really appreciate the help.

The bracket should screw to the back of the washer and to the top panel.

There should be spring clips in the front panel of the washer that go into the holes in the front of the top panel.

Sheila,

Thanks for responding. There are no screw holes on the top lid and I do not see how either of the brackets attach to the top. The sprinf loaded clips are on the side of the top of the washer along the sides. I am toally befuddled because it looks from the parts drawing that I have all the parts.

Is there any way that you can send me a picture of your washer and top?

Here are the pictures. My thought is that the rear bracket would attach to the top with the two screw holes, but there are no corresponding holes on the top cover itself. I took a picture of the two brackets that can fit at the front and the holes for them. Both fit there, but I am not sure which one to use. The one with the round tab does not fit into the hole at the underside of the top at the front. The other bracket is listed in the parts list but gives no direction as to where it goes. I know that the top is a generic Electrolux part now, do I have to drill holes for that rear bracket. Even then, I have no idea how the front goes on. I know I have the right parts, they just do not seem to work together. Look forward to hearing from you.
