Default Inglis SuperbII Oil in tub
Brand: Inglis
Model Number: XO47381
Age: More than 10 years

Hi,

I have tried scouring the site for an answer, but none match my problem.

Our washing machine appears to have oil deposits on the clothes. I looked inside the tub, and there is an accumulation of brown oil/grease (has an petroleum smell) along the top of the tub/drip edge. I have not pulled the agitator yet, but will go this route if required.

Is it possible that oil is working its way up from the transmission and collecting at the top of the tub?

Other than the oil/grease, there are no signs of problems.

Thanks

Greg

There is a seal in the basket drive that could be allowing turbine oil in the washer.

Can you please verify your model number?

Is it a Canadian model?
