Default How to replace fuse in Neptune motor control board
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAH3000AWA
Age: 1 - 4 years

The fuse on the motor control board has blown. It has a cap on each end with a soldered wire to the circuit board. How do I replace the fuse? What are the specs for the fuse?

It is blown! I was asking how to replace the fuse. Can you just pull the end caps off and put a new fuse in?

Thanks for the tip on the wax motor on the door switch. I'll be sure to check it.

Hi,

Replacing the fuse will not correct your problem.

You will need to install a new motor kit that includes a motor and motor control board.

So if that is really ture, I'll just take it to the appliance junkyard so it can rest in peace with its other MAYTAG friends and buy a different brand which will be more reliable.

Check your warranty first.

That washer motor has a ten year warranty.

Now I know that it's the fuse on the motor control board that is bad, but get this..

If you look up a motor control board for that washer it will sub to the new motor/board repair kit.

The motor/board kit includes a new motor and that control board that you have the bad fuse on.

If you look up a motor it will sub to the same motor/board repair kit.

So if your washer is under ten years old and you can find a maytag dealer that does warranty work that will work with you maybe you can get the motor/board kit for free under warranty.

If you do decide to junk the washer you may want to pull the control board out from behind the timer and put it up on ebay. I have seen used ones sell for up to $100.00 on ebay as new ones are around $200.00

Just something to think about.
