Default How do I shut off the buzzer on my dryer
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DBSR453EBOWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

When my dryer is close to the end of the cycle it buzzes very loudly two or three times. Is there a way to turn the buzzer off? I tend to do laundry late in the eve and I am afraid I will wake my baby.

You will need to pull the control panel( five torq screws) and just remove a wire from the buzzer, then tape it to avoid shorts.

Sorry for asking, but where is the control panel and how do I know which wire to remove? Do you have a picture of some sort?

You allready gave us a model # . Lean dryer forward and remove screws holding back panel. This is the upper panel behind the controls. The buzzer is a black plastic thing without a shaft going to the front.

I didn't word that properly, my apologies....I was looking for a diagram using my model nmbr so I could find a picture of the "control panel" or a link to assembly/disassembly. I appreciate your assistance and will give it a go. Thanks again for your help Appliance Guy!!

hey Appguy, it's been awhile since I could get to this. There are two wires, a red and a black. Do I disconnect both? One comes from the start knob and is red and the black goes to the temp selection.

take the back off,run the dryer, when it buzzes that's the buzzer, unplug the dryer, then take one wire off the buzzer and put some tape on it and put cover back on and plug dryer back in

thanks Bettyboop, I figured it out. I knew where the buzzer was but I didn't know which wire to disconnect as there were 2 wires from the buzzer. I tried the black and it worked. Thanks again.
