Default Hotpoint agitator
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: VBSR2080
Age: 5 - 10 years

My agitator won't work in any cycle. It will spin. I have pulled the front cover and checked the belt and it is good. I move it and the tranny moves. If I put my hand on the agitator it seems that it wants to move a little, which leads me to believe that it may be loose. Two questions: a)What is the problem? b) If I have to remove the agitator, how do I do it? Thanks in advance

Just grab the bottom of the agitator, with your fingertips, and yank up fast. The only way to do it!

Thanks! Found out it was the bell coupling right below the agitator that was worn out. Working good as new now!
