Default Hot water comes out in COLD setting
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: WBSE3120B1WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Here's what's happening:
3 Wash/Rinse Settings: COLD/COLD, HOT/COLD, WARM COLD

When selecting:
WARM, the washer does fill with warm, a combo of hot and cold.
HOT, the washer does fill with just hot.
COLD, the washer fills with ONLY hot.

I removed the back of the Control panel and voltage is fine. Intake tubes are proplery set. Odd that I do get the correct cold water mixed with the WARM setting and HOT is hot. Only the COLD selection is messed up...comes out HOT.

Any ideas?

Start with the control switch.

Then the water valve-pretty cheap part, maybe $15. Make sure you wire it up correctly.

Unplug machine before you attempt the repair

Problem is, I didn't see a control switch. It looks like the water inlet valve is hooked right up to the Control Panel, priced at about 100.

Guess I should start with the valve?

Valve looks good-clean. As I said, I get cold, no problem, when warm is selected. Additionally, if i play with the temp. control dial, I can find a spot that COLD does come out. Looks like it is the Temp. Control Switch. Now I just need to locate it. I am thinking that it is part of the Control Panel/Circuit Board, at $100. Shown on this diagram.

I also removed the Back Panel and Circuit Board. The Switch pokes right out of it through the front, where the dial attaches.

Am I missing it?

It could be the board, as I didn't see a separate water temp switch, I allways buy washers with analog switches, boards are prone to fail.
