Question Hope its not the switch
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSQ8543JO1
Age: 1 - 4 years

My washer seems to have the symptoms of a bad lid switch. If I depress it by hand it will work if I stand there and hold it but won't run with the lid down. It seems to be positional. I have to press it up against the housing and then depress the switch with a pen to get it to work. The part in the lid is okay and aligned properly but still won't work. HELP!

Your lid switch is probably partically broken. They are made of plastic. If you drop the lid a few times it'll break. you can tape an old short nail over lid switch till you replace the switch. Bettyboop
