Hi, I have a Hoover HNL 2136 - 80 (serial number is 31000597)

I have just replaced the brushes as they had worn out completely. However, on reassembily I have discovered it will wash, it will drain it will fill but it wont fast spin. In fact, during the spin cycle all it does (other than drain) is every 5 seconds or so breifly fire up the motor so it twitches, not even enough to turn the cylinder round once.

Everything else works, drum turns normally during wash and rinse just not on spin.

Now, I am guessing seeing as the motor works, thats fine now, and the program board and switch is fine as everything works when it should bar the fast spin of the motor. So would it by chance be the large capacitor on the rear of the body thats busted ?

Any advice greatfully recieved, kids starting to smell now LOL !
